Organisational Structure
Narrabri Shire Council is consistently reviewing its workforce requirements and strategies to adequately resource and deliver essential community services and infrastructure across the Shire. Maintaining a balanced and professional workforce allows Council to improve its service and infrastructure provision and create ongoing opportunities for employees to develop their knowledge, professional experience, and expertise. Council will continue to review its organisational structure to ensure it aligns with service level requirements to meet community needs.
Narrabri Shire Council has a three directorate system consisting of:
Infrastructure Delivery
Infrastructure Delivery controls matters relating to road maintenance and repair, water services, design and contracts, projects and assets, fleet, waste, parks and open spaces.
External sites within the Infrastructure Delivery Directorate control are: the sewerage treatment works, Federation Farm and the Council Depot.
Planning & Sustainability
The Planning and Sustainability Directorate consists of strategic planning, economic development, tourism and community development, environment, health and compliance.
Financial & Commercial Services
Teams within the Directorate include - Customer Service; Financial Services (including Property & Rating and Procurement); Fleet Operations; Information Services (including Geographic Information Systems – GIS); Property, Building and Maintenance Services; Insurance, Land and Leasing.
External functions and sites managed by the Financial & Commercial Services teams include Narrabri Saleyards, The Crossing Theatre, Narrabri Airport, and aquatic facilities at Boggabri, Narrabri and Wee Waa.
