Off-Leash Areas
Off-leash areas have been established in the township of Narrabri and Boggabri for the safety of residents and the enjoyment of pet owners.
Please remember
- When using off-leash areas, always keep your dog under constant supervision and control - make sure your dog has reliable recall training before allowing off-leash exercise.
- Be considerate of others - clean up after your dog using bags and provided bins.
- While dogs can roam freely in designated off-leash areas, they must be on a lead or chain and under the control of a responsible person when walking in all other areas of town.

1. Schools;
2. Children play areas;
3. Public swimming pools;
4. Areas where food is served or prepared; or

Animals in public places
When out in a public space with your animal, you are responsible for cleaning up after your pet. The easiest way to do this is by carrying a waste bag to collect faeces and then disposing of it in one of the many bins provided by Council.
Please contact Council's Regulatory Compliance Team if you have any enquiries.
