The grants support capacity-building events, projects, programs, and activities that deliver both social and economic benefits to the wider community.
Speaking at the ceremony, Narrabri Shire Mayor Darrell Tiemens highlighted the dedication of the not-for-profit groups and clubs.
“The vital role you play in reinvigorating our community through sporting and social events is nothing short of admirable,” Mayor Tiemens said.
“You are integral in helping build positivity right across our Shire and pivotal in encouraging community pride and revitalisation of our villages and towns.
“I would also like to make special mention of the hard work of all your volunteers, who continue to contribute so much to local not-for-profit groups, and to our Shire overall,” Cr Tiemens added.
“I offer my congratulations to all of you and thank you again for the crucial contribution you continue to make to Narrabri Shire.”
The Community Financial Assistance Grant program is based on funding rounds and up-front financial contributions.
Round 2 of the Community Financial Assistance Grants close 15 November 2023.
