In a ceremony held on September 17, 2023, the city's Sporting Wall of Fame added another layer of history as plaques commemorating the achievements of local athletes were unveiled. The event, organised by the Narrabri Shire Council, was a celebration of sporting excellence and a testament to the hard work, dedication, and unyielding passion in their chosen discipline.

Out of the nine esteemed inductees, seven were present to witness their names etched onto the Sporting Wall of Fame. Two of the honourees sent their apologies but were undoubtedly there in spirit as their accomplishments were celebrated.

"We are delighted to recognise and celebrate the achievements of these outstanding athletes who have brought success to themselves and contribute significantly to Narrabri's identity as a sports powerhouse," said Cr Campbell.

Apart from the induction of the nine athletes onto the Sporting Wall of Fame, the Narrabri Shire Council also took the opportunity to acknowledge the outstanding achievements of local athletes associated with the Northern Inland Academy of Sport (NIAS). The NIAS has been instrumental in nurturing young talent and providing them with the resources and support needed to excel in their chosen disciplines.

Out of the nine NIAS athletes honoured at the event, eight were in attendance. The CEO of NIAS, Shona Eichorn, was also present to show her support for the budding sports stars and express her gratitude for the city's unwavering support of grassroots sports development.
