NSC Recognises Remarkable Efforts in Duck Creek Bushfire Emergency

Narrabri Shire Mayor Darrell Tiemens has extended a heartfelt thank you to members across the community for their incredible and dedicated efforts during the Duck Creek Pilliga Forest bushfire.
“On behalf of Council, I would like to pay tribute to all the amazing individuals and teams who showed such incredible dedication in battling the Duck Creek Pilliga Forest Fire,” Cr Tiemens said.
“We truly appreciate and acknowledge the exceptional efforts made by everyone involved in managing this tough situation.”
“The outpouring of support from the Narrabri Shire Community has been nothing short of remarkable.”
“Volunteers, firefighters, aviation crews, support agencies, not to mention local NSW Police, showed unparalleled dedication and courage in managing the complexities of the Duck Creek Pilliga fire.”
“Your selfless actions and steadfast efforts have been invaluable in safeguarding our community during this trying period.”
Mayor Tiemens acknowledged the exceptional efforts of the NSW Rural Fire Service and dedicated fire crews.”

“I’d also like to acknowledge the Narrabri Shire Council staff, who themselves are integral members of our community, and played a pivotal role in supporting fire crews, managing road closures, facilitating communications, and providing crucial logistical support to emergency services teams.”
“I commend the exemplary leadership of Council's Director of Infrastructure Delivery Eloise Chaplain, whose guidance and chairing of the daily Local Emergency Management Committee meetings has been instrumental.”
“The efforts displayed by every individual involved showcased professionalism, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to our community's safety,” Cr Tiemens added.
