Original artworks transformed for NarraBRIGHT

Four artworks by Aboriginal artist Caitlin Trindall will transform the walls of Narrabri’s former Clubhouse Hotel as a part of a fresh new program of illuminations for NarraBRIGHT 2024.
To be held on Friday, 15 March from 6pm, Illuminart will once again be showcasing spectacular and breathtaking light projections for the event.
Caitlin, a proud Gomeroi woman, first began painting in 2016 as a way to connect to her Grandfather Stan Trindall in Narrabri – despite being physically apart.
Inspired by her Pop, Caitlin has a passion for bringing Aboriginal culture into everyday spaces through artworks and creative workshops.
Through her business Mirii Art, Caitlin is proud to create all kinds of artworks including canvas paintings, murals, digital art, public art projects, jewellery, emu eggs, and homewares.
“I’m so thrilled to be showcasing these artworks in Narrabri, and sharing these with my family, friends and the wider community,” Caitlin said.
“The works I have selected to appear in this exhibition hold a great deal of significance to me, they are a combination of both traditional and contemporary art.
“One of these artworks Family of Turtles was painted for my Pop as a representation of our family – with each of the four turtles symbolic of my Pop, my Mum Leanne Trindall, my brother Matt, and me.
“To showcase this in NarraBRIGHT is an absolute honour that I am truly excited for.”
The annual illumination street light festival builds on the success of previous years. This year will include three buildings featuring new animations created by Illuminart.
“We have a passion for collaborating with artists, sharing local stories and producing show-stopping spectacles in regional towns,” Illuminart Creative Producer Justin Morrissey explained.
“It’s been a real privilege working with Caitlin on this production."
NarraBRIGHT will see Narrabri’s main street bursting with colour, music, entertainment, late night shopping, food, captivating art installations, market stalls and art workshops.
The event is funded, organised, and run by Narrabri Shire Council.
