NarraBRIGHT ready to take flight in its third year
Published on 14 March 2023
NarraBRIGHT returns to Maitland Street Narrabri this Friday (March 17), celebrating the Shire’s vibrant community, CBD, and businesses. The street festival (supported by the NSW Government’s Reconnecting NSW fund) coincides with Council’s CREATE Festival.
For the third year, NarraBRIGHT will light up Narrabri’s main street with colour, music, entertainment, food, and late-night shopping. For the first time, Narrabri Shire Council is proud to feature projection mapping installations down Maitland Street, courtesy of renowned Australian projection company – Illuminart.
From 8pm, the Westpac building will come to life, with its architectural features highlighted. At the same time, the Grayhound Building will illuminate with a magical flight-scape and animations from Gamilaroi Stories - a series of artworks created in collaboration with local school students, Aboriginal Elders and Zest Event International.
Narrabri Shire Mayor Ron Campbell has encouraged residents and visitors alike to head down to the street festival and enjoy all that is on offer.
“NarraBRIGHT is a night for the entire family. There is something on offer for everyone, and I encourage people to head to Narrabri and watch Maitland Street come to life,” Cr Campbell said.
“Take part in the numerous workshops, pose in artworks, snap some memorable moments and enjoy a true community-centred event”.
