NarraBRIGHT 2025 set to dazzle

The countdown is on for NarraBRIGHT 2025, with the annual event to once again set to dazzle Narrabri’s Maitland Street on Friday, 14 March from 6.00pm.

Now in its fifth year, this free community event has shined a light on Narrabri’s vibrant businesses, people and the wider community.

This year’s festival centres around the 2025 CREATE Festival theme of Dream and features not-to-be-missed visual spectacles, art installation, workshops and entertainment, combined with delicious food and late-night shopping.

Returning for its third year of NarraBRIGHT, illuminart’s Dream NarraBRIGHT will bring stories to light, transforming Maitland Street into a dream-like spectacle of light, art and storytelling, through breathtaking architectural projections.

Narrabri Shire Mayor Darrell Tiemens said NarraBRIGHT had grown to become a flagship event in the region.

“NarraBRIGHT is a must-attend event on the Narrabri Shire calendar with last year’s NarraBRIGHT seeing a record crowd of 6,000 people,” Mayor Tiemens said.

“As well as being a great night out, NarraBRIGHT sees local businesses open their doors for late-night shopping and dining, providing an added experience to this amazing evening.

“In addition to local businesses, stallholders and creatives, we’re fortunate to have the support of so many community members, volunteers and event crew who make NarraBRIGHT happen,” Mayor Tiemens added.

At the heart of NarraBRIGHT’s 2025 projection artwork will be a surreal, floating astronaut, a recurring figure symbolising both internal and external exploration.

Through three key projection sites: McDonald’s, Westpac and the BEST Employment site - illuminart’s storytelling will take audiences on a journey through the depths of the subconscious, the power of dreams, and the limitless possibilities of human imagination.

Founder and Director of illuminart Stories in Light Cindi Drennan said NarraBRIGHT was more than just a beautiful pop-up event.

“The NarraBRIGHT festival is a shared celebration that brings the community together,” Ms Drennan said.

“It shows that life is more than just school and work, it’s about coming together to celebrate where you live, to see each other, and to feel connected to your town.

“We love working with the community and Council on this event because it’s clear how much thought goes into curating it each year.

There’s always a meaningful theme, and we’re excited to bring that to life in a way that engages and inspires the audience.”
