Council’s Interim General Manager Honoured at Ministers’ Awards

Narrabri Shire Council interim General Manager Eloise Chaplain has been recognised at the 2024 Ministers’ Awards for Women in Local Government.

Receiving the Champions of Change Award, Mrs Chaplain was recognised for her excellence in supporting and encouraging women’s participation at Narrabri Shire Council.

The Ministers’ Awards for Women in Local Government are a significant annual event, recognising the outstanding contributions of women who are making a difference at the grassroots level of government across both metropolitan and regional/rural councils.

Speaking after the awards, Narrabri Shire Mayor Darrell Tiemens praised the leadership shown by Eloise.

“Council is incredibly proud of Eloise’s achievements and the recognition she has received. Her work continues to inspire and set a benchmark for excellence in local government,” he said.

“This award testament to her dedication to promoting and encouraging women's participation in local government. Her leadership has been instrumental in creating pathways and opportunities for women at Council”.

The 17th annual awards were presented during a ceremony at NSW Parliament, co-hosted by Minister for Local Government Ron Hoenig and Minister for Women Jodie Harrison.
