Infrastructure upgrade works are set to begin in the carpark located at the rear of the Narrabri Region Visitor Information Centre. Works will commence on Monday, 23 September and are expected to continue through to Wednesday, 9 October - pending weather.

Councillors Sworn In, Mayor and Deputy Mayor Elected

Narrabri Shire Councillors have been sworn in at an Extraordinary Council Meeting held on Wednesday, where Cr Darrell Tiemens and Cr Brett Dickinson were re-elected unopposed as Mayor and Deputy Mayor.

Cr Tiemens will serve as Mayor until September 2026, with Cr Dickinson holding the Deputy Mayor position until September 2025. Both leaders retain their roles after initially being elected in September 2023.

“It is an enormous honour to represent not only this Council but also the incredible people who call this part of our state home,” Cr Tiemens said following his re-election.

“From the smallest of our villages to our larger towns, I look forward to working with our councillors across our great community”.
