Wattle Day

Wattle Day
The wattle tree has been a big part of Australian history and culture for centuries. In all its variety, Wattle symbolises optimism, resilience, renewal, diversity and unity. Its colour brings joy to many, and its abundance is an early reminder that spring is coming!

This September, celebrate Australia's National Floral Emblem, the Wattle Tree (Acacia). Hear from the Indigenous community as they speak to its cultural significance. Additionally, Council's Biosecurity Team will be on hand to chat with guests about wattle trees in their garden.

10.15am - Presentation: The wattle tree and its place in Indigenous culture
10.30am - Morning tea
11.00am - Presentation: Wattle trees in our garden
