Maules Creek Coal Mine CCC (18-Jan-17)

 NOMINATIONS ARE OPEN FOR APPOINTMENT OF COMMUNITY MEMBERS TO THE MAULES CREEK COAL MINE COMMUNITY CONSULTATIVE COMMITTEE

Want to contribute to your community?

Many State significant projects in NSW have Community Consultative Committees.

These committees provide a forum for open dialogue between the proponent and representatives of the local community, stakeholder groups and local councils on issues directly relating to the project.
We are looking for an industry stakeholder group member who lives locally or is a member of a relevant stakeholder group to join our Maules Creek Coal Mine Community Consultative Committee. The Maules Creek Coal Mine is an operating open cut coal mine located in the Gunnedah Basin.

Your role as a committee member is voluntary.

Selection criteria: You will be expected to contribute constructively to committee discussions, attend around (four) meetings a year, and communicate information about Maules Creek Coal Mine, between the committee and the broader community. Additionally, stakeholder group representatives must:

  • be a member of an industry stakeholder group with an interest in the project;
  • have knowledge and awareness of the project and related issues of concern;
  • be able to represent and communicate the interests of the group or community; and
  • be willing to adhere to the committee’s code of conduct.
